A man and woman are facing multiple drug and weapons charges following an incident that occurred just before 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday night. A deputy with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and a patrol officer with the Christiansburg Police Department responded to a call about a possible fight between two vehicle occupants. The vehicle was located in the parking lot of a hotel in the 0 block of Laurel Street in Christiansburg.
Joseph G. Painter, Jr. of Blacksburg, 65, was charged by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office with one count of driving under the influence.
Christiansburg Police have also charged Painter with one (1) count of distribution of a controlled substance and two (2) counts of providing a firearm to a convicted felon stemming from information gathered at the scene.
Christiansburg Police have also charged the other vehicle occupant, Doris Ann Oliver of Roanoke, 21, with two (2) counts of possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony; one (1) count of possession of ammunition for a firearm after being convicted of a felony; one (1) count of possession of a controlled substance; one (1) count of possession of controlled paraphernalia; one (1) count of possession of marijuana; one (1) count of possession of a concealed weapon.
Both Painter and Oliver are currently being held without bond in the Montgomery County Jail.
