Culvert Replacement on Stonewall Road

Beginning Friday, May 31st, a section of Route 612 (Stonewall Road) in Floyd County will be closed to traffic as crews replace a culvert in the area. The road will be closed approximately 1.6 miles from the intersection of Route 221 and 0.5 mile from Route 665 (Eanes Road). A detour will be in place using Route 661 (Jerry Lane/Kings Store Road) and Route 665 Eanes Road. Signs will be in place directing traffic. The work will be complete on Monday, June 24, weather permitting. For traffic related information visit www.511Virginia.org .

Saturday, May 18, 2013 8:30am | Online Registration is now closed. There’s still plenty of room for day-of registration. It’s been hard to train because of the rain and all this cold wet weather. But it’s a ride, not a race. Just go your own pace. And we’ll all cheer you on, together. Please note new starting location: Floyd United Methodist Church 417 E. Main St, Floyd VA 24091 The Tour de Floyd is a scenic 62.4 mile long ride with nearly half the distance along the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway. There is 6,700 feet of climbing so at least 27 rear cassette or triple chain ring is recommended. The ride is supported with rest stops and SAG wagons. The ride is limited to 250 participants and must be at least 18 years of age. This is a rain or shine event. Proceeds benefit the Floyd Rescue Squad.T-shirts for pre-registered riders
while supplies last.

A chili and cornbread dinner will be offered for an additional $5. Doors open at 6 p.m. The evening is sponsored by the Association of Energy Conservation Professionals (AECP). A panel discussion will follow the movie.
