Free Men's Shirt Day (8:00 am - 1:00 pm)
Community Action's Blacksburg Clothing Shop will be giving away men's short-sleeved shirts free in boxes in the hallway thursday, Sept. 9 from 8AM - 1PM. The shop is located in downtown Blacksburg in the old town hall in the lot behind Sharkey's at 141 Jackson Street. USE THE SIDE DOOR on the side away from Main Street. The nonprofit shop sells clothing for 50 cents each or $2-$5 a bag, dep on bag size. It is open Thursdays and the last Saturday morning of each month.

Maybe your imagination starts to envision a place were little girls grow up to become national historical figures. This is the tour experience The Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Museum offers to those who wish to see where Mrs. Wilson, First Lady to President Woodrow Wilson, was born and raised. The Foundation is now offering special tours of the Bolling home to allow visitors to be a part of our growth. This is the beginning phase of a plan that will eventually end in the renovation and interpretation of this historic landmark in Wytheville, VA. The tours blend stories about the Bolling family who lived at 145 East Main Street from 1866 to 1899 and the buildings history. Exhibit panels portray family members and the words of Mrs. Wilson. Tours are available on Fridays at 1:30 p.m., Saturdays at 10:00 a.m., and by appointment. Admission is $5 per adult, $4 per senior, and $2 per student under age 18. Group rates are also available.
