Lillian Hayes Wheeler Moore, age 87 of Draper passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Lewis-Gale Hospital-Pulaski. Born March 3, 1926 in Helen, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Monroe Hayes and Celia Ruth Haga Hayes. Her husband, Leaton Moore, one son, Gregory Leaton Moore and one Brother, Jack Hayes also preceded her in death.
Our precious mother, Veronica C. Tynan (62) of Radford, daughter of the late Catherine and James Lepera, departed from this world to be with God on June 18, 2013 with family by her side.
Margaret Louise Snead, 81, of Christiansburg, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Mrs. Snead was born in Wythe County to the late John Crockett and Thelma Elaine Farmer Shipwash. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thomas Snead and sister, Gloria Swanson Alderman.
Douglas Allen Graham, 65, of Blacksburg, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Mike Baker; son, Joe Graham; stepchildren, Doris, Mike, and Mark Correll; sister and brother-in-law, Colleen and Franklin Shephard; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Ennis Graham, and John and Barbara Graham; special friend, Renee Chandler; and four grandchildren, Taylor Thompson, Callie Thompson, Jake Baker, and Alyssa Baker. The family would like to thank Dr. Harry McCoy and Good Samaritan Hospice for their care of Doug. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Bradley Eugene Crawford, 62, of Christiansburg, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013. He was born on January 8, 1951, to the late Norman and Opal Crawford. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Crawford. He served in the United States Army as a Sergeant in the Vietnam War. Brad was also a member of the Patriot Guard. He worked as a mechanic at Shelor and later ran Brad's Garage on Radford Road.
Kathrine Simpson Conduff, formerly of Floyd, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013, in Roanoke, Va. at the age of 81. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama on October 24, 1931, to Capitola and Neal Simpson. Kathrine was a 1953 graduate of the College of William and Mary with a combined degree in English and Fine Arts. She taught English for Roanoke City Schools until marrying Dr. Joseph Conduff in 1958 and moving to Floyd, where she raised her family. She was fondly known to family and friends as "Kitty".
Nathaniel (Bill) Henry Hurd, age 81 of Floyd, died late Saturday evening June 15, 2013 at Skyline Manor Nursing Home in Floyd. He was born on February 28, 1932 in Pulaski, and was the son of the late Ethel Hughett Hurd and Edward Dulaney Hurd. Bill was a retired auto body repairman, he once regularly attended the Church of God of Prophecy, in Pulaski, and most recently attended the Topeka Brethren Church in Willis.
Neal Hampton Wirt, 73, of Pulaski, died Saturday June 15, 2013, at Lewis Gale Hospital-Pulaski, following a lengthy illness. He was born on March 15, 1940, and was the son of the late Marie Millirons Wirt and Ralph T. Wirt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Durmon Wirt; and a stepfather, L. Edward Gilbert.
Tammy Annette Whittaker, 41, of Pearisburg, departed this life Friday morning, June 14, 2013, at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem after a long illness. Born in Mercer Co., W.Va. on April 21, 1972, she was a daughter of the late James Buck and Annie Lee Bower Thornhill.
Irene Troutt Vaughn, 57, of Christiansburg, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013. Jerry and Irene owned the Christiansburg Cab Service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alice Troutt.
Mary Ruth McGrady Owens, 89, of Dublin, passed away Saturday morning June 15, 2013 in Wheatland Hills, Hillsville. Born in Barren Springs on February 22, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Herman S. and Flora Frost McGrady. She was also preceded in death by her husband Charles H. Owens Jr.
George Alexander Gray, 92, of Shawsville, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013, at Lewis-Gale Montgomery Hospital. He was born on April 16, 1921, in Armagh, Northern Ireland, the son of the late William G. and Margaret Allen Gray, and immigrated in 1923 with his family to Long Island, NY, where he grew up. He received his B.S. in Civil Engineering at Clarkson College in New York and his Masters and Doctorate in Structural Engineering at Yale University.
Margaret “Peggy” Hughes Jarrells, 72, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013 at her home in Pulaski. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Mariann Hughes, son, Brent Michael Jarrells, grandson, Trevor Jarrells, and brother, William A. Hughes.
Lewis Lee (Buddy) Pearman Sr., 68, of Christiansburg, died Friday, June 14, 2013. Born March 25, 1945, in Christiansburg, he was the son of the late Harvey Lewis Pearman and Elsie May Linkous.
Samuel Duane McFall, 64, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Riverview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Rich Creek. He was born in Pulaski County on October 6, 1948, and was the son of the late Silas and Lillian Mae Tolbert McFall. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Cennie Elizabeth Welch and Mary Dean; an infant brother; and an infant sister.
Clyde Francis Henry, 91, of Blacksburg, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. He was born in Knoxville, TN to the late Gired D. and Grace Bales Henry. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret L. Henry. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater.
Marvin Glen (Butch) Dunford Jr., 70, of Richlands, formerly of Pearisburg, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 13, 2013. Butch graduated from Pearisburg High School in 1961, where he scored the last touchdown for the Pearisburg Red Devils. He served four years in the Air Force, and he retired from Buchanan Mine #1 Consolidated. He was an avid golfer, and played fast pitch softball for several years, proudly wearing the #13.

Charles R. (Chuck) Chamberlain III., 55, of Barren Springs, formerly of Christiansburg, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013, in Louisville, K.Y., as the result of an automobile accident. Chuck was born on August 3, 1957, in Christiansburg. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles R. "Charlie" Chamberlain Jr.; his grandparents, Charles R. "Ralph" and Jackie Chamberlain, and James and Lucy Sarver; and an aunt, Sue McCarty.
Vickie Ann Carroll, age 54 of Pulaski and formerly Dublin passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013 in the Lewis Gale Hospital, Salem. Born November 1, 1958 in North Carolina, she is the daughter of Katherine Louise Jones late Harold Jones. Her husband, Kenneth Carroll also preceded her in death.
Elna May Spradlin, 92, of Floyd County, and formerly Bedford County, died on June 10, 2013. Born near Stewartsville on January 16, 1921, she was preceded in death by her parents, Lester M. and Mabel Ferguson Spradlin; her brothers and their wives, Clifton and Nina Spradlin, C.W. and Louise Spradlin, Marvin and Estelle Spradlin, and Fred and Edith Spradlin.

She was born in Floyd County on February 8, 1933, to the late Herman Joseph Edmund and Nellie Ruth Muncey Price, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Royster Lee Cox; son, Randy Dale Cox; daughter, Josie Mae Cox; sister, Thelma Price; and a brother, Allen Lee Price.
Regenia Sue Marshall Underwood, age 63 of Pulaski passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at her home. Born March 5, 1950 in Pulaski, she is the daughter of Ila Darkus Montgomery Marshall and the late Calvin William Marshall. Her husband, Alden Roscoe Underwood also preceded her in death.

She was born in Pembroke, VA on August 13, 1932 to the late Elbert Lee and Minnie Exie Martin Keffer and was also preceded in death by her infant sister Frances Keffer; husband, Omer Lee Meadows.
Wilma Phipps Millirons, 68, of Dublin, passed away, Sunday, June 9, 2013. She was born December 17, 1944, in Tennessee. Wilma was a member of the Goshen United Methodist Church; she also received a degree in Geriatrics and Human Services from New River Community College. She is preceded in death by her father, Silas Phipps; and her husband, Vance Millirons.
Samuel Ervin Luckadoo, 76 of Christiansburg, passed into his Heavenly Home on Saturday, June 8, 2013. Sam was born on May 23, 1937, in Montgomery County. He was the son of the late Monroe and Ruby Luckadoo. He is also preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Trump and Becky Bailey; stepson, Benton McGuire; and an infant son at birth. Sam was retired from Hooker Furniture with 32 years of service.
