Desiree (DeeDee) Horton, 28, of Chester, VA passed away on March 3, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Desiree worked as a Real Estate Agent for Open Door Realty for several years before her illness. She enjoyed movies, dance, her extensive shoe collection and most of all loved being at home surrounded by friends and her beloved family. Desiree was born in Tucson, Arizona on April 20, 1984. She graduated from Thomas Dale High School, furthered her education at Richard Bland College and continued on to receive her Real Estate License. Desiree is preceded in death by her grandfather Ira Reed, grandparents Merrill & Charlotte Sifford and grandmother, Eunice Burton. Desiree is survived by her parents, Henry & Donna Horton of Chester, VA, her fiancé Chris Woods, sister; Danielle Hope Horton, grandfather; Henry Horton Sr., nephew; Chris Austin, niece; Amber Grosshans, uncles; Ronnie (Robin) Horton, Jerry Reed and Timmy Reed and a host of cousins, relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Bower Funeral Home in Pulaski, VA with Pastor Tommy Ramsey officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM – Tuesday evening at Bower Funeral Home,Pulaski. Burial will follow at Thornspring Cemetery. 540-980-6160. www.bowerfuneralhome.com
